Lyons' Vehicle Stickers

Vehicles that are registered to a Lyons address must display a Village of Lyons vehicle sticker to avoid getting a ticket.  The Village actively enforces vehicle stickers and residents will receive a ticket for not properly displaying their sticker if a Police Officer or Community Service Officer notices their car does not display the Village Sticker.

 

Overnight Parking

Overnight parking is allowed on the majority of Village streets as long as it is not expressly prohibited by a Village sign. 

 

Parking during Snow and Ice Events

Parking is prohibited on selected streets when snow of 2" or greater has fallen.  Violators on these streets will be ticketed.  To avoid a ticket, please take note of the signs located on the streets and make sure to not park on designated signed snow routes.
 

Handicap Parking on Residential Streets

Persons who would like a handicap parking sign in the street in front of their house must be approved by the Lyons Police Department. The applicant must submit documentation from a physician that he/she is physically handicapped and requires the sign, and the street parking must improve the disabled resident's accessibility to his/her home. In general, handicap parking signs are not approved when a driveway already exists on the property. For further information, contact the Lyons Police Department.

 

Inoperable Vehicles

The Village of Lyons prohibits the parking or storage of motor vehicles not currently licensed or which are inoperable on private property or on Village streets. In addition to receiving a citation, the vehicles may be impounded at the owner's expense.

 

Vehicles for Sale

It is illegal to advertise cars for sale on Village streets or private property or to utilize vehicles as signs.
