The duties of the Environmental Quality Control Commission/Quarry Relations Committeeare to recommend plans, procedures, and regulations to the Village Board concerning air, water, and land environment.

The EQCC/QRC additionally works with the Illinois EPA and the Office of the Attorney General to improve and ensure the air and water quality in Lyons.
